And in everything, whatsoever you may do, be working heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord ChristSt. Paul's Letter to the Colossians (3:23-24)
On behalf of the Parish of St. Mark, first I would like to thank the Town of Westwood for helping us and allowing us to hold this event. Also, many thanks to all of our sponsors who helped us make this possible. It was a huge success. We had many visitors from our community and the surrounding towns visit our Greek Food Festival. A warm thanks to all of you, our friends and fellow brethren of Westwood, and all the patrons who visited our Church and our festival.
I cannot express how happy I am with the results of our festival.
However I am more happy from all the hard work that our parishioners offered to the church. There were so many of us working together as one unit, for countless hours, days, and weeks. Despite our fatigue and our own personal quirks, we pulled through because we worked together for the Lord. This is the Church, my fellow brethren. The Church is all of us working together. We build our bond and friendship through our labors for the parish. And this bond, that is held together through God’s Grace, is what holds us and keeps us united during difficult times. Remember, we are all sinful people, (I the worst of all), and we make mistakes and say the wrong things. However, we forgive and forget because we are united in Christ.
It is amazing what we have accomplished in three years. Through our hard work we have been able to show the town of Westwood our Orthodox faith, our hospitality, our heritage and culture. Let us keep up the good work, working together in Christ for His parish, because in essence, this is His parish. Everything is His.
I am thankful for all of you that God has entrusted with me. You give me courage and strength to work even harder for Christ, His Church, and His flock.
Thank you and see you all at St. Mark’s Greek Fest 2018!!
